Arts & Industry Week

In 2018 we held our first World of Work week based on an international survey that we had taken part in called Primary Futures, which investigated what children would like to be when they grow up. Following the success of this week pupils at MPS said that they would love to have the chance to learn about different professions that involve the arts. We set about as a staff to make this happen in the Summer of 2019!

Mini Tennis Team

Here are some photos of our Year 3/4 mini tennis team. On 22nd June, they went along to Derby Tennis Centre to play in the Derby City Sports Partnership tennis tournament. They managed to win all their games and therefore qualified to attend the Derbyshire Youth Games on 7th July. Schools from all over the county were representing their areas in tennis, cycling, rounders, cricket and athletics. The team played 4 matches, all of which they managed to win, which meant that they were through to the final. The final was a close match, but our team managed to win once again, crowning them county tennis champions for the second year running!
